THE BATTLEFIELD

Arjun leaned back in his leather chair, fingers steepled as his cold gaze tracked Meera’s every move. "You enjoy this, don’t you?" His voice was low, deliberate—a blade wrapped in silk. "Poking at my empire like it’s some game."

Meera didn’t flinch. She met his stare head-on, her own voice steady. "Games have rules. You rewrite them whenever it suits you." She tilted her head, a challenge. "I just hold up the mirror."

His jaw tightened. No one spoke to him like this. No one dared. Yet here she was, unraveling him with nothing but words and that infuriating composure.

Arjun stood abruptly, circling the desk until he was close enough to catch the scent of her perfume—something subtle, defiant. "Careful, Meera," he murmured, his breath skimming her ear. "Mirrors break."

She held her ground, but her pulse jumped. He saw it. And God, he wanted to chase it.Mirrors might break..bt still they show the truth..evn more piece by piece
